Two Months to go!

Two more months, and I'm off... Actually, only a month and a half of work to go...
Strange feeling by the way... It's all decided, it's all set, but waiting...
Not that I could leave tomorrow ( or maybe i could, I've got a ticket and a visum), cause there's quite a lot of stuff i still have to do.
Number one priority, throw a good going away party...
provisional date : 12 oct (save the date!), location: to be decided...
Apart from that, there's some stuff i still have to do, so excuse me for using this blog as memo block to myself... and advertisement space ;o)
- get an international driver's license
- get a good book on Dubai - my stopover on the way to Sydney, i've only got three days there - so i better decide what to see and do before -if anyone has been there, or has some suggestions - please tell
- think of some accomodation for the stopover - i know there's the old and the new youth hostel any experience with these? or any alternatives anyone?
- make some arrangement for my car (anyone interested in a Volvo S40 - in the end of september preferably ;o)
- practical stuff, like cancelling tv and internet connection and stuff...
- insurance for the trip
...
I can't think of the rest... tell me if i'm missing out on anything crucial...

All other arrangements, like temporary address, tax file number, and so on, i'll have to arrange in Sydney... I already booked a week of youth hostel there, Wake up Hostel, just so you know where to find me ;o)

By the way... as I'm going to be out of the country, don't hesitate to keep me informed about what I'm missing out on in Belgium...
It's quite a distance, but with all this great technology, there's no excuse for losing touch... or not to send me pictures of your latest archievements...
As soon as I get to Sydney, I'll also get a local phone number, and for the cheapskates - I'll put my skype-account on these pages... ;o)

I think this should do for a first post, It's not like I've already left... I'll try to keep the posting up throughout the year to come...
It's not like I can say I don't have the time... I do realize what a comfortable position a year of leave is... ;o)

Oh yeah, I don't know why I'm writing this in English... probably just to get in the mood...
If anyone is bothered, tell me, and have your grandkids to translate it ;o)
